STL Editor - Resize, Fix and Enhance Miniatures

Getting a miniature ready to print is where a lot of projects stall — the model is the wrong size, a spear or cape is too thin to survive the plate, or an AI-generated mini comes out bumpy and rough. The Wuxyteo STL Editor fixes all three, free, right in your browser. Nothing to install, no account needed to start — and your STL is read inside your own browser, so nothing is uploaded to be shared.

Works on desktop browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). 3D editing needs WebGL2, so phones and tablets aren’t supported.

What it does

  • Resize — scale any miniature to the right height against a 1.8 m human reference figure, so it matches the rest of your collection. Set the real-world height (a person ≈ 1.8 m, an ogre ≈ 3 m) and the miniature height (e.g. 32 mm), and it rescales live.
  • Thickness check — highlights the walls that are too thin to print (spear shafts, capes, fingers, thin bases) in red. Brush over them or click once to select a whole thin area, then thicken them.
  • Enhance — smooth and refine rough surfaces from 3D scans and AI-generated models so they finally print the way you pictured them. (Preview is free — see below.)
  • Export & Snapshot — download the finished STL, ready to slice and print, or save a full-HD studio render of your mini for sharing or a print catalogue.

How to use

  1. Upload — click Upload STL in the top bar, or drag the file onto the page.
  2. Resize — set the real height and the miniature height. Only cleaning or thickening? Turn Rescale off and skip ahead — the size won’t change.
  3. Thicknessred = too thin. Use the left toolbar: Brush to mark parts (they turn blue), Area to select a whole thin patch in one click, Eraser to unselect, Size for the brush. Click Apply to thicken.
  4. Enhance — adjust the sliders and watch the Preview in the right view. Happy with it? Click Apply (supporter perk — see below).
  5. Export or Snapshot — grab your print-ready .stl, and/or a shareable render.

Viewer: drag to rotate, scroll to zoom, click the corner gizmo to snap to front / side / top, and hold Ctrl while painting to rotate without marking. The view is split — left = your model, right = the result.

Free vs supporter

Resize, Thickness and Enhance previews are free for everyone — play with them as much as you like. Applying an Enhance runs on my own computer at home (every “apply” is literally my machine crunching your mesh), so that one step is a Patreon supporter perk. Click Unlock with Patreon in the top bar, approve in the pop-up, and you’re back as Patron ✓ with Apply unlocked. Your support is what keeps the server — me — running and the tool improving.

FAQ

What files does it take? Any .stl (binary or ASCII). Minis from Cults3D, MyMiniFactory, Thingiverse or your own scans and AI generators all work.

Is my file private? Yes — the STL is parsed in your browser. Exported models may be kept briefly on the server so the tool can run and improve, so don’t upload anything confidential. See the privacy policy.

My model looks huge or tiny. That’s just the camera framing — the print size is whatever you set as the Miniature height.

A part is still red after thickening. Increase the thickness target, or brush over it again and Apply once more.

It won’t load on my phone. Use a desktop browser — 3D editing needs WebGL2.
