CMON has said there will be no official Zombie Hero Mode, so I built one for DC. Play the Real DCEASED is a free, fan-made set of Zombie Hero and Hero Spawn cards that lets you play the DC roster the same way you play Marvel Zombies. The cards are modelled on the official Marvel cards, so the two sets play side by side. I keep this post and the download up to date as more is released.

What’s inside
The set covers the DC heroes and villains from the Marvel Zombies Kickstarter, converted for Zombie Hero Mode:
- Zombie Hero cards and Hero Spawn cards for the DC roster
- Individual ID cards and card backs
- Extra sets: Life Equation and Dark Nights: Metal
Bystanders are on the to-do list – I want to see how the official bystander cards work before converting them so DC and Marvel stay fully compatible.
How to print
Print at 300 DPI so the cards come out the right size, and use around 300 g/m² cardstock so they feel close to the real ones – a home printer or a local print shop both work. Want to tweak a card or make your own? Build it in the Card Maker.

Will you add bystanders?
That’s the plan. I’m holding off until I can see how the official bystander cards behave in zombie mode, so the conversion matches.
Is there a campaign to play these with?
Yes – see my Marvel Zombies campaign, and the rest of the Marvel Zombies and DCEASED content.
Can I edit the cards or make my own?
Yes, open the Card Maker and build or remix superhero cards yourself.
Where is the art from?
The artwork comes from the official Kickstarter material; these are fan cards for personal use only.
Version history
- 2.2: fixed Superman’s attack reference.
- 2.1: new Super Hero back; added Robin’s ID card; fixed the missing Two-Face image; fixed the Plastic Man / Huntress typo; changed Super Hero text (This/Model to Name/He/She); nerfed Doomsday.

Hey i plan to relase everything we got up to today, in the next few days. either use the best printer you have access to or as i did go to a local print store, there use 300g/m² paper (it is thicker than normal one and will feel like real cards) 🙂

I had one more thought: did you think of making the backside as CMON did in their release of pdf “batman metals” cards?
Hey, i am thinking about adding it, i am for now not sure how. Print and Play style like cmon did, or better 2 pngs so they can be printed correctly. If so then they migth be 1 image usable for all cards.

Superman’s Zombie Hero card refers to “Superpunch” but he doesn’t have such an attack. It looks like that is Supergirls attack.

Thank you for all of your amazing work on this. Are you planning to make superhero spawn cards for Martian Manhunter and Hawkman? Those seem to be the only ones missing from the entire Kickstarter.
Aside from those two cards, the Zombie ID card for Ravager is printed as “Ravanger”.

Second, what is the Superpunch attack Superman has in his blue ability?
Third, shouldn’t Doomsday be limited to his Adaptive Evolution to a certain number of times, just so there is a lose condition?
hey, yes i have to go over them again 🙂 Doomsday is doomsday, but in the end its a custom card you may adapt it if you like 😉

Cause in Marvel Zombicide, bystanders have different effects in zombie mode
