Hello Everyone,

A new Version for the Card Maker is online. It is a completely new Version. Here are some features:

  • Save the whole Project
  • Card Backs
  • Spellcheck (Local Ai setup needed)
  • Print and Play function
  • Better UI and Logic
  • more
  • should be more or less mobil supported
  • way more bugs so just report if you see something 😀

AI Setup (i think only for windows):

  1. Install Ollama
  2. Install a Ollama Model (i use ministral-3:3b it is small but fast enough)
  3. Run Ollama
  4. Start the bat file below (in the zip, allows Browser to talk to Ollama)
  5. If you dont use ministral-3:3b then in the card maker go to the Grammar Settings
  6. Refresh Settings and Select from your installed models

Old Version!

Currently Version 0.3.2 is online and still in Alpha Phase.

Currently working:

  1. Super Hero: Spawn and Equipment Cards
  2. Zombie Hero: Spawn and Equipment Cards
  3. Invader

This Update now provides the correct sizes for all game modes to be printed with 300 DPI. (Fantasy Character needs to be scaled up by 1.025). I am also currently trying a save to PDF function. It is now available for all implemented cards. Maybe I need to scale it down a bit (1%) to make it a perfect fit. Mathematically, it should work right now 😀 So feedback would be nice. Also, I have to extra scale Fantasy Characters, so the PDF version should be right, the PNG might need to be upscaled by 1.025. This was a rather big coding update, so I hope you like it!. Still a lot to do!

0.3.2:

  • Version Updated to the New Unity version
  • Theoretically, it is now usable on mobile if your mobile device has enough power
  • General Buxfixes:
    • Fixed a crash at bootup for some Persons on some Browsers
    • For some Cards (e.g., Equipment 2nd), when entering nothing in the description made the background disappeared; now a min position is kept
  • 2nd:
    • Equipment Cards: for weapons, when the description is nothing, the separator line disappears

    • Spawn Cards added

  1. My thoughts:
    1) On the scale image, can you also make it a percentage not just slider?
    2) Some heroes have 4 or even 5 health. Can those be options?
    3) The kid option (smiley face with hat) does nothing?
    4) Is it possible to click and drag the image around? Right now, we forced to use the keyboard arrows.
    5) Is it possible to make a checkmark box to upload an already created character? ex: The skills and names are already filled in, and it just uploads the entire picture and automatically scales it or tells you what to scale to.
    6) What about a backside?

    • Heyho, that was fast 🙂 thanks for the feedback. 1. no problem will be done 2. this might need some more time as i have to create assets. For marvel it will be in on day 1 :). 3.weird it should add the symbol in the upper right corner, as the supe buttom does. Maybe a bug. 4. right now it is not possible, maybe in future, i have to read into that… 5.yes i want to add this to save data to text file and load it back in. But this will also need more time. Backs will come after ALL Cards front are done. I dont have them on high priority for now. Thanks for your input! This is just the first draft and is all about functionality, but if it working so far for you i am glad 🙂

  3. This looks great! Will you be making one for fantasy Zombicide? There are more than 7000 members in the Facebook Zombicide group, and I bet many of them would jump at the chance to make their own custom cards without needing photoshop (which is what I use to create my stuff.) Since I brought it up, I have photoshop templates and fonts in a google drive for all the different cards, and even for the mission templates. So let me know if you want access to any of that.

      • Great!!! Thanks a bunch! I have used the tool to create a few characters for Zombicide 2nd ed. and it’s perfect! I have now Zombicide Invader and I was thinking to create a new Character ID, but I saw that it is under development, so I will be looking forward for this update.

    • Sorry i dont understand it 🙂 i dont know if the fonts had kyrillic letters, if so it should work, else i dont think so. Maybe i could add a function that will use normal fonts for russian letters, if that would help you.

    I can put the same png on abomination cards, but I can’t put it on equipment or spaw cards

  5. I have the latest version but it won’t let me save the card. Nothing happens when I click “save png”. What can I do?

  6. Love the generator. One thing I noticed… On the note cards the gray box for the text does not continuously expand it only goes to about a quarter of the way down the card before it stops and just makes the text smaller. Other than that great job.

  7. Hey! Very nice work with the generator, would you make this open source or give access to someone else to keep helping?

    I want to add Massive Darkness into it as well as some custom fonts, probably even some networking functionality to save and share heroes.

  8. Firstly I would like to congratulate your work, it’s already great, a suggestion would be to make the yellow skill editable too, as well as giving more freedom like “+1 action and luck” (I can also put the field in my mother tongue, which is not English )

  9. I loved the software you created S2 S2. I’m Brazilian, and I just wanted to ask you, would it be possible to change the parts written in “English” (yellow level and place for armor)? Just to keep the card in the same language 😀

  10. For the weapons of 2ed, they need the all out dices symbol and the padlock symbol to keep the weapon in campain, i think thats not too hard to implement..
    but is a nice work, i will keep following your work

I’m not yet ready to create my custom characters (Boba Fett, John Wick, Vegeta, Piccolo) because I want to familiarize myself with the rest of the character abilities to ensure I create balanced abilities.     • uf that might be hard honestly. i can try to give a custom font option, eg all text will be that fond then, but there are a lot of different ones involved

  12. Hi Wuxy, thank you so much for this and your amazing content! Will be tipping once I get my stuff printed.
    The Save PDF function isn’t working in the Online version. I downloaded the main version and it appears that it works for Super Hero ID cards, but not for Bystander cards.
    When saving a PNG with this template, how do I put it into a PDF or Word document to ensure it is sized correctly?

    • hey printing should be fine with 300dpi, yeah pdf is a bit broken yet and needs more fixing for online 🙂 I think i have to redo the complete logic for the whole program.

  13. It’s really cool to be able to do my own cards, it’s intuitive and easy. But the “save png and pdf” button don’t work for me, and I think 2 features can be had the all out dices first and the possibilty to give 4 Health for supers.

    Thank you for this tool it’s really helpfull.

  14. In the 2nd Edition when you create a weapon card, if you remove the text, the dedicated spaces for the numbers are deleted.

    • with very limited time i work on it. But yeah i still dont have the right template for western so it might need more time. i am currently on invader and finishing fantasy

I wanted to update my BP and GH game set with some custome spawn and equipment cards ( from Massive Darknnes and other monsters to make a D&D or HeroQuest like crawling game.. as Book Of The Death, do you know it?) and the Card Maker is the perfect tool.     • Please, can you make the yellow action writeble? Some characters have different actions. Can you save to the text file the chosen color? Thanks!

  17. The Abomination, Spawn, and Necromancer for the Fantasy section only load up the Character card.

    I tried to open your WebGL link but the server is sending the file Build/Webgl.wasm.gz with the wrong HTTP header.

    Currently, the Content-Type is not set correctly. It should be:

    Content-Type: application/wasm
    Content-Encoding: gzip

    Because of this, browsers show a warning and the startup performance is affected.
    You’ll need to adjust the server configuration (Nginx, Apache, Netlify, etc.) so that .wasm.gz files are served with the correct headers.

  24. What you did is amazing!

    But I notice a few things that could be changed to make it even better:

    The app don’t have the all out option. Only the online version has it.

    Curently it’s not posible to make a weapon that can both be double AND open doors.

    Some things are not working. There is an error every time I try to download a Note card. And there is no way I can download the PDF version; the button doesn’t seem to work.

    Suggestion: Is there a way to change the background color from yellow to another color? (Actually, I want to make some skill cards, so it would be lovely to use the same colors from the skills, like blue, yellow, orange, and red)

  29. Fantastic work, this saves so much time.
    I’m using version 0.3.2 to create character cards for Zombicide 2nd edition. The “Save PNG &PDF” button does not seem to do anything. Is it temporarily having issues, or perhaps a problem on my end?
    Also, when I choose “Save PNG” it does not seem to save to the correct size for printing, unless I am just terrible at printing. I may have misunderstood the patch notes, but I gathered it should be saving in the correct size.

    I am still playing classic Zombicide (1.0?) with Rue Morgue & Angry Neighbours Expansions. I am using the plastic dashboards from Black Plague / Green Horde. I really like your editor – is there a version with the classic Zombicide artwork that fits the BP (Fantasy) Dashboards please?

  32. hi 🙂 thanks a lot for the app. It’s realy amazing. I have one problem when creating a spawn card in fantasy. It’s always end with java error script when saving. Funny thing bc i have chacked all other cards and only with spaw there is the issue. Is it maybe a issue on my site or is it normal? I have checked this also in other browsers

  33. Your new version of the card maker, for Fantasy cards, doesn’t use the ‘Zombicide’ font for the text anymore?! … They looked better with the Zombicide font 🙂 … Is that an oversight or an error? Or is that just how the new version is? (I thought I posted this comment before! But can’t find it!)
